We thank the Edward Kennedy Institute for hosting our Atlantic Middle School English Learner (EL) students for an engaging and valuable learning experience on Tuesday! The Institute, which has a full-scale reproduction of the United States Senate Chamber, provided the perfect setting for our students to participate in a mock debate on the length of the school day.
Students were divided into two groups and tasked with arguing for either a longer or shorter school day. The debate allowed students to practice their public speaking and critical thinking skills while learning about the importance of civic engagement.
